MARTIN CONGER FAMILY CEMETERY
Recorded and contributed by Mary Collins Landin  07-05-05

Located:  On a very high hill south of Clinton, MS, in 1983 behind the Lonnie Allen home, in woods between Skyline and Flowers Drives, off McRaven Road (a very beautiful site) (S6T5NR1W).
Recorded:  By Mary Collins Landin, on 18 Mar 1983
First Grave:  1833
Remarks:  This was the family cemetery of a very prominent Clinton (Mt. Salus) family.  The Conger home was not far from the McRaven home, and while there are many many McRaven descendants in the area, none are left with the Conger family name.  There are at least eight visible unmarked graves, and the cemetery has been vandalized.  The unmarked/vandalized graves are most likely Mrs. Congers and some of their children.

Conger, Martin b. 7 Jul 1797 d. 13 Dec 1833  (broken marble vault)

McKay, Mary Athelia b. 27 Sep 1829 d. 5 Dec 1850 (a married daughter who died very young?)  (broken marble vault)
