JOHN ALLEN FAMILY CEMETERY
Recorded and contributed by Mary Collins Landin  07-05-05

Located:  On Brock Road off Mississippi Hwy. 27 between Utica and Crystal Springs in Hinds County, MS (S25T3NR4W).
Recorded:  By Frances C. Burnet Fisher, in 1943
First Grave:  1832

Remarks:  In October 1978, I tried to record this old abandoned cemetery, but had to give up because of the Japanese honeysuckle, briars, and fire ants.  In 2005, this cemetery is located at the intersection of a newly named road, Walter Davis Road, with Brock Road, both very rural parts of Hinds County.   This cemetery is completely overgrown, although there are no trees  in it.  There are many unmarked graves, many of whom are relatives of Mrs. Fisher.  She had copied the cemetery 44 years ago, and gave me the list of gravestones.  This old cemetery is being encroached upon by intensive row cropping, and will probably disappear in a few years.
