JOEL EASTERLEN FAMILY CEMETERY
Recorded and contributed by Mary Collins Landin  7-06-05

Located:  In deep woods on a ridge about one mile into the old Currie Place off Fisher Ferry Road near Utica (S7T3NR4W).
Recorded:  By Mary Collins Landin and Jerry and Christine Herren, on 31 Mar 1979
First Grave:  1836

Remarks:  This cemetery is abandoned and overgrown, and none of the Easterling (Easterlen, Easterland) Family now live in the Utica area.  The land is now owned by Ronnie Hood (2005), and is posted against trespassing.  I never would have found it had Jerry Herren not known about it as a child.  Joel Easterlen was a charter member of the Bethel (Utica) Baptist Church when it was founded in 1829, and had been a member of the White Oak Baptist Church (founded 1826) that now no longer exists.  Descendants of this family are buried in the Utica Town Cemetery.
