Provine Chapel
c. 1860. This beautiful old chapel is located on the campus of Mississippi College. During the Civil War, it was spared from the torch by Gen. William T. Sherman, and served as a Union hospital. The basement provided shelter for Union horses.

Boyd House/The Oaks Museum
c.1850. Greek Revival Cottage Home of James Hervey and Eliza Boyd. Occupied for ten years by the same family. Boyd was mayor of Jackson four times in 1840's and 1850's. In 1960, the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Mississippi purchased The Oaks and opened it to the public as a museum. The Oaks is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Old Capitol Museum
c. 1839. Museum offers exhibits on Mississippi from prehistory through the Civil War, Reconstruction Period, the cotton culture, and the civil rights movement. One of America's finest examples of Greek Revival public architecture, the building served as the state capitol from 1839-1903. The Old Capitol was restored 1959-1961. The Old Capitol Shop offers visitors a sampling of the state's folk art, crafts, and books by Mississipians and about Mississippi.
