Greene County Teachers

This list of teachers was taken from the County Superintendent’s Pay Certificates of Greene County, MS. Most were teachers in schools located at the time in Greene County but became a part of George County, MS in after May 1910. The location of Evans Creek School is unknown to the compiler, but Lura Thomas was known by family members to have taught in George County Schools. Oscar Backstrom signed the certificates as the Greene County Superintendent of Education.
