James GODBOLD born Dec. 1785, Prince George Parish, SC married 1st wife (TARVER or TABOR) about 1808 and had Reason Erwin GODBOLD and 3 daughter. James married 2nd wife Elizabeth K. Wright on 28 May 1821. They had Mary Ann, Martha Jane, Levi R, James M., Blueford, William, Missouri and Thomas. He first went to Port Gibson with relatives in early 1800's. Then there is an entry for land in Franklin County, MS in 1817. Need info on first name and lineage of wife 1, lineage of wife 2, and names of three daughter by first wife. Thanks.

Need parents for John/Jonathan GRIFFING who lived in Franklin Co., MS from about 1800-1834, He married probably in Franklin Co. in 1828 Lucinda Jane Corban, daughter of Stephen CORBAN and Rachel HILL. He owned property in the vicinity of Hamburg, MS he is believed to have died in 1834, since his Lucinda m/2 Littleton MUNDY of Hamburg, MS on 25 Sep 1834. Littleton MUNDY'S first wife, Catherine NELSON died 16 Aug 1834 and is buried in the Mundy Cemetery near Hamburg.

The children of John/Jonathan GRIFFING and Lucinda J. CORBAN included: 1. John Madison GRIFFING, b 13 Jul 1829, m. Elizabeth STRINGER; 2. Sarah Jane GRIFFING, b 8 Apr 1831 m. Jonathan Madison GUICE; 3. Mary Elizabeth GRIFFING b. 18 Jun 1833 m/1 Jefferson COMPTON m/2 Christopher C. CAMPBELL. Will exchange info on any of these families.

Descendant of Thomas and Jane Bonds LOFTON would like to obtain copies of photographs of THOMAS LOFTON (b. 1780 Newberry Co., SC, d. Jan 1867 in Franklin Co., MS). Thomas and Jane Lofton came to Amite Co., MS in 1811 and settled in Franklin Co. around 1820. Thomas Lofton fought in the Mississippi militia during the War of 1812. These individuals were my 4th generation greatgrandparents and they have numerous descendants in Franklin, Copiah, Lawrence and other neighboring southern Mississippi counties. My address is R. She was born in 1823, died 1902 buried in Old Clear Branch Cemetery in Lincoln Co. MS. They were married December 16, 1847 in Copiah Co. MS. Their Children were: Amanda, b. 1849, J. M. , Malissa, b. 1854, Celia Catherine, b. 1859, m. Henry Wilson, Alice, b. 1860, m. John Diamond, John S. b. 1863, m Mary Lofton, Larren or Lauren b. Feb. 1865-d. Nov. 1940. John S & Mary Lofton FRAZIER-FRASURE's children were: Thomas b. April, 1884, Carruth Charlie b. May 1885, Lillian Mabel b. April 1891 and George Edward Lambright b. December 23, 1893.

Who were the Parents of Mary LOFTON or LOFTIN, Where are they buried? Anything will be appreciated Did she have any Siblings. We believe that both John S. and Mary died just a few months apart in Brookhaven, MS. c 1902 or 1903. We also believe the two younger children, Lillian Mabel and George Edward (my dad) went to live with a Neely Lambright.
