Don't rely strictly on the surname as many people list multiple surnames. Generally they list the first surname as the one that has the most content on their page, or the one that has the closest connection to them. Many Sites have a descriptive name for their site with no reference to surnames.

in the 1880 census. Claudie (or Claudia) Johnson and David L. Buford married
sometime around 1883 in Alcorn co. MS. They had four sons who -it has been
said - were killed by a train. They had a daughter Myordyeen Buford in 1892

Frequently Asked Questions and how to submit a site
Do you have a Mississippi Genealogy Family Page on the Internet? If
you have a website that contains information about such a family (or,
families), please email
Jeff Kemp, Mississippi Families
Site Coordinator, with your site's URL and brief description for posting on this page. Please place
MSGenWeb Families in the subject line, to expedite entry. Please provide a Title for your page, otherwise it will be listed in alphabetical order by first surname you provide.
Q. Where will you place my site in the listing?
A. It will be placed in alphabetical order by the first surname you list, unless you provide a title for your page. If you provide a title the title will be listed in alphabetical order.
Q. Can I have it listed under multiple alphabet
listings for all my different surnames.
A. No, but we have a search engine on the site, and you may list all of your surnames behind your Title.
Q. How long will it take to get my site listed once I
send it in?
A. Usually the next day, however as volunteers it may
take a bit longer. If you do not see it posted within 3 days please
email me as it is possible of course I did not receive it.
Q. Why do you want MSGenWeb in the subject line?
A. This gets your site posted faster.
Q. Why was my site removed or moved to the Dead Links
Page?
A. The only reason a site is ever removed is
at the owner's request. If the link turns up dead the listing will be
switched to the Dead Links Page.
