Rufus B. Armistead – 26 Aug 1854 – 9 May 1880. Son of T. R. & D Armistead.
Rufus B. Armistead was born in Pontotoc Co., MS. His parents were Thomas R. and Drusilla Armistead. He was listed in 1860 (p. 236) in Pontotoc County. By 1870 the family were in DeSoto County (p. 139) living near Horn Lake. His siblings from the census records were: Martha Almarene (1843), John W. B. (1845), Lucy A. (1846), Jabes G. (1848), Cambel R. (1849), James W. (1851), Fannie J. (1856), Thomas B. (1857), Mary P. (1859), Charles M. (1861). He died prior to the 1880 Census.
T. R. Armistead – 13 Dec 1821 – 24 Oct 1892.
Born Thomas R. Armistead in Georgia. Married Drusilla about 1841 in either Mississippi or Alabama. First appears on the 1845 Mississippi State Census in Pontotoc County, MS, where he is also listed in 1850 (p. 85) and 1860 (p. 236). He served in the state militia (cavalry under Capt. Weatherall) in Pontotoc County. Moved to DeSoto by 1870, where he appears in that census (p. 139) and the 1880 Census (p. 477D). The family name in the census records is routinely spelled Armstead.
Drusilla Armstead – 4 January 1817 – 29 Aug 1886.
Born in Alabama. Wife of Thomas R. Armistead. Was the mother of at least eleven children (see Rufus B. Armistead, above).
Mary A. Perry – 31 Aug 1859 – 14 Aug 1907. Wife of W. B. J. Perry.
Cannot locate in census records.
Rufus Lundee Perry – 21 Sept 1895 – 8 Aug 1919.
Cannot locate in census records. He did register for the WWI draft in DeSoto County.
Mary W. Farmer – 11 May 1888 – 12 May 1888.
No additional records.
J. W. Farmer – 18 Aug 1812 – 17 June 1888.
Believed to be the J. W. Farmer listed in the 1870 DeSoto Census, p. 247B. Census gives age as 63 and states he was born in Virginia.
Johnnie A. Farmer – 26 Mar 1886 – 20 Sept 1910.
