Dear Cousin I received you letter which gave me great pleasure to hear from you all and that you were all well we are all well there has been some sickness in the neighborhood there has been several hail storms this Spring which has destroyed our wheat crop it has not left an acre of it it blew down Mr McFarlands shop (?) and our corn crib and all of our fence but did not blow down any of our dwelling houses well cousin I have no news to write you you say you have nothing to write but you are back in the States as the saying is and have many things to write about I must come to a close for I have nothing to write give my love to Aunt Mary and Uncle & Aunt Barbara & all my cousins and except the same for yourself if you cant read this badly written letter let me know & I will come over in a week or two & read it for you from your cousin until death
