Tabernacle Cemetery
Tabernacle Methodist Church Cemetery is located in central Copiah County in T1N R3W Section 23. There are several ways to reach this cemetery, but I will describe the one I use. It can be reached from Interstate Highway 55 by taking exit 65 and going
west on Gallman Road for a little less than two miles. Gallman Road will terminate into Raymond Road. Turn left and go approximately two miles until Raymond Road intersects with Dentville Road. Then turn right and go approximately two miles again.
Tabernacle Methodist Church is on the right. The cemetery is in a well-maintained fenced area to the left of the church. The oldest recorded grave is 1901.
There are 74 identifiable grave markers. The author made this listing on June 15, 2000. The information comes from the tombstones. In addition reference was made to World War I registration data, the Social Security Death database, and the census for
years 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, and 1900. Where tombstones list birth dates and no death, that information was recorded. The individual may still be alive. Every attempt was made to ensure accuracy, but some stones were very difficult to read.
