GRAY, DOOLING
Date: Sat, 14 Jun 2003
I have reason to believe my husband's g, grandparents were residents in Chickasaw County before moving to Texas.  I know they were in Texas by 1900.  Her maiden name may have been DOOLING.  They had a son born in Mississippi with that given name.  Their other son I know of was James.  Manning GRAY.  The following information was taken from the 1880 census, birth years are approx. I think William and Duling were brothers; they lived only a couple of houses apart.  I know Duling and Lizzie and their sons moved to Texas and can be found in several counties in that state: Webb, Williamson and others.  I have no  further information on them and would appreciate any help anyone can offer. Thanks  Duling GRAY, b. SC 1824(?), Lizzie, b. SC 1835(?), Son Rufus, b.  MS 1856(?); Duling and Lizzie had another son (name spelled Dooling), born in MS abt. 1860 William GRAY, b. SC 1833(?),  Anna, b. SC 1835(?), Son John, b. MS 1859

I am looking for information about my great-great grandfather and his wife, Rev. and Mrs. Thomas J. YOUNG of Chickasaw County.  Their daughter, my great-grandmother, was Matilda Elmirah (or Almira) (Dixie) YOUNG.  She married John Thomas HAWKINS.  She was born in 1849 and died around 1923.  I'm not sure when Rev. Thomas J. YOUNG lived in Chickasaw County.  I would appreciate any information about him. Debbie Hawkins Pickering
