Estate of John B. Allen deceased
To the Hon. Saml. Young Judge of the probate court of the county Attala and state of Mississippi.
The undersigned commisioners appointed by this _eon? court at the last Jany. term thereof and or de-ed and directed among other things to divid the personal estate of John B. Allen deceased among his legal heirs. To assertaine each heirs share agreelby to the last of the descents and to allot to said heirs their respective shares thereof .__g learn respectfully to respons. That pursuing the instructions contained in the commission. When directed, and the rule of the statue in this behalf, they assembled at the home of John Biggs in the said county for the purpose of making said division at the 11th day of February 1861. The heirs of age all being present and those not of age being represented by their guardians, all of whom waived notice hense of this division. San commissioners carosed to be assembled all the Negroes Subjects to division and valued them as follows towit.

Amos T. Allen Adminerstrator of said Estate reported assets of the estate subject to distribution. When collected to the amt. of $3050.00 which together with the aggregate value of the negroes makes the sum of $14,400.00 to be equally divided between the heirs 9 in number, giving each heir a share of $1600.00.
____ commissioners then proceed to divid the Negroes into 9 equal shares and designates said share as No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and awarded assets to equalizes the shares as follows.

This is to autorize you jointly to appraise the good chattels an opeersonal Estate of Maj. John B. ALLEN late of said county deceased, so far as the same shall come to your sight and knowledge. Each of you having first taken the oath as affirmation here to annexed a certificate whereof you are to return annexed to an Inventory of the said good chattels and personal estate by you appraised in Dollars and cents, and in the said Inventory you are to set down in a column or columns opposite to each article the value thereof.

Report of Appraisement in Book A of Appraisement
Report Sale of Land
To the Hon. E.M. WELLS Judge of Probates of Attala County in the State of Mississippi.
The undersigned Guardian of the person and estate of Wesley D. ALLEN, a minor of said county begs leave respectfully to report, that in pursuant to the decree of this Honorable court made at the September term 1859 thereof directing and authorizing him to sell certain lands tenement and hereditaments of his said Ward ~itual lying and being in said county certain orig by estimation 360 acres, and fully descended in S~~ decree, this guardian gave public notice by advertisement posted and published according to law, and direction of said decree, as it will fully appear by reference the proofs marked exhibit - A herewith and prayed W~be made a part of this report, that he would on the 15th day of November AD 1860 sell said lands tenements and heredetaments in the manner and on the terms required by said decree and the statute, on the premises, that Term said Guardian did of tenwards with in the 15th day of November 1860 at the place last aforesaid between the heirs of 12:00 AM and 5:00 PM when and where ~~~ assembled several of the next of kin of said wards. The Co heirs as well as ~~~ other persons then and there expose at public outcry for sale to the highest bidder. All of the said lands, tenements, on a credit of one and two years - and after ~und~y bids thereupon made J.A.P. CAMPBELL bid for the said premises the sum of $6.94 4/9 cents per acre amounting in this aggregate to the sum of $2500.00 which being the highest and best bid made for the said premises. The same were thereupon struck off w/him and he was declared the purchaser thereof. That it said J.A.P. CAMPBELL has since the day of sale signed sealed and delivered to this guardian a bind forth purchase m~ney with J.M. DAVIS and C. B. GALLAWAY as his Securities, and this guardian believing said bond in dice form and the said security good and ample prays confirmation of said sale, and an order for a deed to said purchaser all of which is respectively submitted on November 19, 1860.

Before me E.M. WELLS Judge of Probates in and for said county personally appeared A. G. OBRIEN publisher of a public newspaper printed and published in the terin of Kosciusko in said county and state called the Attala Democrat, who being duly sworn, did deposit and say. That publication of the notice hereunto affixed had been made in the said newspaper for 4 successive weeks as follows towit in No. 23 dated Oct. 5, 1860 in No. 24 dated Oct. 12, 1860, In No. 25 dated Oct. 19, 1860. In No. 26 dated Oct. 26, 1860, In No. 27 dated Nov. 2, 1860, In No. 28 dated Nov. 9, 1860, said publications beginning on the 5th day of Oct. AD 1860, and ending on the 9th day of Nov. AD 1860.
Guardian Sale
Pursuant to a decree of the Probate court of Attala county, State of Mississippi. Made at the September term AD 1860 thereof the undersigned Guardian of the person and estate of Wesley D. ALLEN, will on Thursday the 15th day of November 1860, sell at public auction to the highest bidder on a a credit of one and two years from the day of sale on the premises between the hours prescribed by law all the following lands belonging to the heirs of John B. ALLEN deceased. Situated lying and being on said county, and known by it numbers as the southeast quarter and south east quarter of north east quarter of section 26, and south west quarter of section 25, all in Township 15 Range 7 east containing 360 acres. Said lands will be sold Subject to the widows dower and subject to the lein prescribed by statue and the purchaser or purchasers will be required to give bind or bond for the sum in sums bid with approved security.
