CORINTH GIRL WEDS ALABAMA MERCHANT HERE(Sent
for submission in Family Branches by Vickie Clark.)
Of unusual interest to Corinth people was the marriage on Tuesday
evening August 23rd, of Miss Falla Richardson
of this city to Mr. A.Z. Bailey of Decatur, Alabama.
The bride is a Corinth girl, known and loved by all, her rendition of
religious service in various departments of the work in the Methodist
church here and at other assignments being well known. She is a graduate
of the Corinth High School, and also a graduate of the Scarritt Bible and
Training School. For several years she had been a deaconess in the
Methodist church and has served with distinction as pastor’s assistant in
the First Methodist Church of this city.
During the past year or more she has been superintendent of community
work for Albany-Decatur, Alabama, and has only recently returned from a
recreation and vacation trip to Manitou, Colorado.
The groom is a man of strong character, a Christian and a member of the
Central Methodist Church of Decatur, and a prominent and successful
business man of that city.
Doubtless the announcement of her marriage will be a surprise to many
of her friends in Corinth, for only a very few knew she was in the city.
The ceremony was read by Presiding Elder Rev. E.H. Cunningham,
the beautiful and impressive rings ceremony being used. The wedding took
place at the home of Mrs. A.H. Patrick on Filmore Street,
with only members of the family present.
Mr. and Mrs. Bailey left on the Memphis Special east
at 10:18, and will be at home at 608 Gordon Drive, Decatur, Alabama.
