Their children were Joseph, Anne, and James B. all born in MS. Anne married a Joseph WHITE, date and place unknown but thought to be MS. The B. in the James B. PROCTOR name is thought to stand for BRASHEARS which could have been maiden name of mother. There were BRASHEARS claims to Bayou land at the same time as Reuben PROCTOR. Information about E. L. BRIGGS needed.  E[dmund] L[loyd] Briggs took the M.D. degree at Transylvania University in Lexington, KY, in 1823.  In that year a friend wrote to him inquiring whether he intended to settle in Missouri or return to Natchez.  His name does not appear in the index for the 1830 Missouri census, nor in that for Kentucky.  Is there any record of him in Ntchez, Adams Co, Mississippi?

I am interested in finding information about Albert Matthews FOWLER, a travelling preacher who lived in the area around Natchez known as Pine Mount. His wife was Charlotte READY, an orphan who lived at the home on Union Street. They had seventeen children. He served as a body servant to a chaplain during the Civil War. He was of African-American and Jamacian parents.

My ancestor, Hezekiah WILLIAMS and wife Rhoda (probably BURGESS), moved to the Natchez Dist. in the 1780's. He was believed to be the Tory colonel in the 96th Dist.SC. Children were: Elizabeth, Jane, Hezekiah Jr. (my line), Charles, Thomas, Absalom, and Jesse. The last 3 could have been born in Natchez. This family left for St. Helena Parish, LA c. 1799.

Subj:  LANIER/ RYAN/1796 and LANIER/GLASCOCK/1797.  Elizabeth RYAN, of Kentucky, daughter of William and Elizabeth RYAN of Kentucky married John LANIER, son of Benjamin and Ealiff LANIER of Georgia, at Natchez, Adams Co., MS  on 29 Jun 1796 . The LANIERS had moved to the Natches Territory of MS from GA. John LANIER was born Dec. 1, 1772 in Screven Co., GA. He later lived in St. Tamanny Parish, LA. Any information on the RYAN family would be sincerely appreciated.
Additionl information indicates a sister of John Lanier, Sara LANIER, of Georgia, married at Natchez on 17 Jan 1797 to John GLASCOCK, of Virginia, son of James and Constance Jackson Glascock.
Witness to the marriage: Thomas Glascock, age 33, of Virginia and John Lanier, age 24, of Georgia
Benjamin & Ealiff Lanier were reported in Legal Records of the District of Natchez under the Dominion of Spain "as a family of 9 persons"
